Water Rescue Jaws
An Underwater Reach Pole for Safe Victim Retrievals
In cold water rescue, rescuers have the GOLDEN HOUR to locate and revive a person who has slipped below the surface. During this time, every minute counts as rescuers locate and retrieve the victim. The Water Rescue Jaws is designed to probe, locate and safely recover a victim from beneath the water's surface quickly and effectively.
The Water Rescue Jaws is a reach pole that grabs a victim and holds him until he reaches the surface. A short downward thrust opens the "J" shaped tongs to a width of 42 inches. When downward motion stops, the tongs automatically close. As a victim is lifted to the surface, the upward movement through the water, along with the force of gravity, keeps the tongs closed, securely grasping the victim. The tongs are made of blunt ended aluminum to avoid puncturing the victim's skin.
The Water Rescue Jaws provides the best chance your surface team will have to reach a submerged victim as they wait for a dive team to arrive, enabling an unbroken chain of effort.
